1.Birrarung Marr to St Kilda Beach: Distance: Approximately 8 kilometers (one way) Difficulty: Easy Highlights: Riverside cycling, scenic beach views, and vibrant St Kilda
Embark on a delightful tandem ride from Blue Tongue Bikes, heading south along the Yarra River. Enjoy the scenic views as you cycle through Birrarung Marr, a picturesque riverside park. Follow the Yarra River Trail, which will lead you to the iconic and lively beachside suburb of St Kilda. Once you reach St Kilda Beach, take a break, dip your toes in the water, and indulge in a treat from one of the local cafes or gelaterias. If time allows, explore the lively Luna Park and stroll along the famous St Kilda Pier before returning to Blue Tongue Bikes.
2. Capital City Trail to Abbotsford Convent: Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers (one way) Difficulty: Easy Highlights: Riverside cycling, lush parks, and cultural precinct
Ride along the scenic Capital City Trail, following the Yarra River from Blue Tongue Bikes towards the inner eastern suburbs. Enjoy the picturesque river views as you pass through peaceful parks, including Yarra Bend Park and Studley Park. As you approach Abbotsford, make a stop at the Abbotsford Convent, a beautifully restored heritage site that now houses art galleries, eateries, and lush gardens. Take a stroll through the grounds, grab a coffee, and soak up the artistic and cultural ambiance. Afterward, retrace your path back to Blue Tongue Bikes.
FRAME: The Holstar Grand Tour Tandem Bike features a double diamond design tandem frame with an eccentric bottom bracket. This design provides stability and efficient power transfer between the riders.
FORK: Equipped with an oversized 700c 1-1/8 full Cro-mo rigid straight blade fork, the bike ensures a smooth and controlled ride. The fork also includes disc brake mounts, allowing for reliable braking performance.
HEADSET: The A-head semi-integrated, semi-sealed 1-1/8″ headset offers improved durability and steering precision, contributing to a comfortable and responsive riding experience.
HANDLEBAR: The front handlebar is an alloy low rise bar, measuring W: 600mm, with a bore of 31.8mm and a sweep of 6°. The rear handlebar is an alloy flat bar, also measuring W: 600mm with a bore of 31.8mm. These handlebars provide ergonomic positions for both riders.
GRIP: The bike is equipped with lock-on grips featuring Kraton rubber, ensuring secure and comfortable hand placement during the ride.
HEADSTEM: The front headstem is an alloy 31.8mm A-head stem measuring L=100mm. The rear headstem is an adjustable length 31.8mm alloy stem, offering a range of R: 35mm and an adjustment between 155mm to 200mm.
CRANKSET: The timing cranks consist of a 3/32x39T 170mm alloy crank, while the rear crankset is an alloy 44/32/22T, allowing for efficient power transfer from both riders.
BOTTOM BRACKET: The bike features an eccentric bottom bracket for the front rider, providing easy adjustment, while the rear rider benefits from a sealed cartridge bottom bracket, ensuring smooth pedaling.
PEDALS: Low-profile high-impact resin pedals offer reliable traction and durability during rides.
FRONT DERAILLEUR: A Shimano M370 Altus 9-speed front derailleur with top pull functionality for 31.8mm ensures precise and smooth shifting.
REAR DERAILLEUR: The bike is equipped with a Shimano RD-T4000 rear derailleur, contributing to smooth and accurate gear changes.
SHIFT LEVERS: Shimano Altus Ez Fire 27-speed shift levers offer easy and intuitive gear shifting for both riders.

CHAIN: The bike utilizes a reliable and durable KMC Z-99 chain, ensuring efficient power transfer.

WHEELS: The 700c Weinmann U-26 alloy double-wall disc F/V rims with eyelets, 36-hole anodized disc hubs, and stainless spokes ensure durability and stability, providing a smooth rolling experience.
TYRES: Kenda 700 x 38c wire bead tires offer excellent traction and a comfortable ride across various surfaces.
SADDLE: The Factor dual-density MTB sport saddle provides comfort and support for both riders during long rides.
SEATPOST/CLAMP: An alloy 27.2mm micro-adjust twin-bolt seatpost with an alloy clamp allows for easy adjustment and secure saddle positioning.

Important Note
Insurance coverage and return assistance are only included when purchased with the bike rental.
Insurance Coverage Includes:

Theft: The insurance covers theft of the bike if the provided lock is used and the bike is locked properly. To ensure coverage, keys must be returned.

Damage: Any damage that occurs while the bike is rented is covered by the insurance. Please keep all receipts for any repairs if you are outside the Melbourne area for reimbursement.

Return Assistance: If you are within 20 km of our location at 2 Rebecca Walk, we will arrange a taxi to pick up the bike and return it to our shop at no additional cost to you.
