The key turning point in beer’s epic history in Melbourne came with the arrival of Belgian chemist Auguste de Bavay in 1884. Beer had been brewed commercially before, but de Bavay changed the game. Following in Augustes footsteps Melbourne’s beer scene has exploded in the last few years. With now over 116 breweries in Victoria. We cruise around the inner suburbs of Richmond, Abbotsford and Collingwood.
